Brad Cooper's twisted defense for cussing

I can not describe my feelings about Brad Cooper's defense of cussing and using foul terms like "bamf" to describe the bride of Christ. I am lost for words at the rebellion, carnality, and pride displayed in this quote from Brad Cooper.

No where is the Scripture sighted in context as a defense. He did reference Luke 6:45 but totally twisted it out of logical context.

Brad Cooper may have changed his view as to what filthy speech means, but God's view does not change regardless of Brad Cooper's humanist explanation based upon the shifting sands of "the ends justify the means".

Let's look at God's Word and see what God said about our speech and testimony.

Titus 2:5-8 (New International Version)

5to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.

6Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. 7In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness 8and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.

Using bad language like "bamf" to describe the church is not soundness of speech. Those outside of the Christian faith even condemn this type of filth. This term is so vile I could not put it on a public billboard because of profanity laws.

Titus 2:11-15 (New International Version)

11For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. 12It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.

15These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.

Brad Cooper's distortion of the Word of God leaves the door open for ungodliness and worldly passions. The cussing he is defending is vile and ungodly which is in clear violation of God's clear commandments found easily in His Word.

Colossians 3:8 (New International Version)

8But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.

God clearly meant what He said regardless of how Brad Cooper wants to redefine God's Word.

I was not required to dig deep into the Bible to refute Brad Cooper's carnal defense of cussing.

It is clear to me that Brad Cooper is not interested in obeying the Scriptures. His defense and distortions of profanity is vile in itself because it only requires the speakers' intention regardless if the words spoken are offensive to those who hear it. This is against what the Scriptures teach us as Christians.

  1. Christians & "Hate" Bills

If "hate bill"-obsessed Congress [and Obama] can't protect Christians from "gays" as much as it wants to protect "gays" from Christians, will Congress be surprised if it can't protect itself from most everyone? If "hate bills" are forced on captive Americans, they'll still find ways to sneakily continue to "plant" Biblical messages everywhere. By doing so they'll hasten God's judgment on their oppressors as revealed in Proverbs 19:1. (See related web items including "David Letterman's Hate, Etc.," "Separation of Raunch and State," "Michael the Narc-Angel," "Obama Avoids Bible Verses," and "Tribulation Index becomes Rapture Index.") Since Congress can't seem to legislate "morality," it's making up for it by legislating "immorality"!
