Romans 10:8-13 (New American Standard Bible)

⁸But what does it say? "THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART"--that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,

⁹that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;

¹⁰for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

¹¹For the Scripture says, "WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED."

¹²For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him;

¹³for "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED."

⁹For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form,

¹⁰and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority;

¹¹and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ;

¹²having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.

¹³When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions,

Welcome to In the hedge with David J

In this blog, I deal with issues facing the church today. These issues range from teaching, false doctrines, politics, false prophets, and errors taught in the church today.

I also want to uplift Jesus and teach the truths about the Christian faith. I want to teach on a level that is based on sola scriptura, on a level that is easy to understand, teachings for new Christians, and teachings for Christians who walked with Christ for years.

Some of my topics will be viewed as offensive to some people, but there are times we must call people in error out by name and appeal to them using the Scriptures.

Galatians 2:11-14 (NASB)
^2:11But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned.
¹²For prior to the coming of certain men from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he began to withdraw and hold himself aloof, fearing the party of the circumcision.
¹³The rest of the Jews joined him in hypocrisy, with the result that even Barnabas was carried away by their hypocrisy.
¹⁴But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in the presence of all, "If you, being a Jew, live like the Gentiles and not like the Jews, how is it that you compel the Gentiles to live like Jews?

In the above text, Paul called out Peter's error in public in front of those following this error and anyone else who was around to hear it. Like with Paul's example, I will try my best to deal with these errors in love and truth. Contrary to what many Christians want to believe, we are obligated to warn our fellow Christians about errors and false teachings.

Romans 16:17-20 (NASB)
^16:17Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them.
¹⁸For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.
¹⁹For the report of your obedience has reached to all; therefore I am rejoicing over you, but I want you to be wise in what is good and innocent in what is evil.
²⁰The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

1 Timothy 1:18-20 (NASB)
^1:18This command I entrust to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you fight the good fight,
¹⁹keeping faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and suffered shipwreck in regard to their faith.
²⁰Among these are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan, so that they will be taught not to blaspheme.

I do not call people out with malice, I am pleading that they refer to the Scriptures and truly study the issues in question.

I am not claiming to be correct all the time and perfect. I'm just striving to teach the Gospel and share my thoughts about the Bible and issues today.
